During the visit, he exchanged views with the soldiers on duty and gave necessary directions. Chief of Bangladesh Army General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed on Monday, the second day of the three-day India tour, met and greeted military advisor in the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS), Lt Gen VG Khandare (Retd). During the conversation the army chief discussed with VG Khandare about the security, defense system as well as the relationship between the two countries. Gen. Newly-appointed Chief of Army Staff SM Shafiuddin Ahmed was adorned with the rank badge of ‘General’ in presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganobhaban on Thursday morning. “Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Shaheen Iqbal and Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Shaikh Abdul Hannan adorned the new army chief with the rank badge of General,” PM's Assistant Press Secretary MM Emrul Kayas told UNB.
