Dhaka, Dec 30 (UNB) – Awami League joint general secretary Abdur Rahman alleged that BNP-Jamaat is trying to create anarchy across the country by killing Awami League men.
“Sensing certain defeat BNP-Jamaat men are carrying out attack on Awami League activists to foil the election in a planned way,” the AL leader came up with remarks at an emergency press briefing held at the office of party’s president political office early Sunday.
“Immediately before election day , Awami League activist Saiful Islam in Darmapasha upazila in Sunamganj district and a Jubo League man in Patia of Chattogram were killed by BNP-Jamaat terrorists. In this way, they are trying to implement the blue print of conspiracy to create anarchy, he said
He said that Jamaat-BNP and Oikyafront resorted to the path of violence to hinder election atmosphere in a planned way.
“Convicted criminal Tarique Rahman is spreading rumors on social media. They are trying to grab polling centers in different areas alongside creating panic across the country,” said Abdur Rahman.
As part of plan of Dr Kamal Hossain and Mirza Fakhrul Islam, BNP-Jamaat cadres are implementing their conspiracy to grab polling stations, he alleged.
He alleged said that the BNP-Jmaat men occupied a polling station at Iftedai Madrasa in Noakhali-2 constituency by assaulting presiding officer. Six AL men were also injured in the attack and five others were injured at Amtoli union of Baghaichari upazila in Rangamati district. There were arson attacks in different places of Chattogram, he said.
In an audio message, Colonel Oli Ahmed directed his activists to occupy polling stations carrying bamboo sticks, he said adding that Jamaat terrorists openly threatened to blow off a polling station at Amtoli of Barguna distric and five were injured in an attack in Sirajganj district.
