“Though we are in five-year plan, for realizing livable Dhaka a 100 to 200 years’ masterplan is needed,” Tajul said Sunday, at a discussion programme organised by Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) in the capital’s Fulbaria.
“Laws of City Corporation must not be formed without considering the matter of recreation for city-children. City Corporation law will be changed if necessary. Any project that enjoys the involvement of general people would bring success. The comforts of Dhaka must be brought back with the united effort of all,” he said.
DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon said “For ensuring modern services for citizens, there is no alternative to a united authority. United steps should be taken for long-lasting public service institutions.”
State Minister for LGRD Swapan Bhattacharya said “The election manifesto of Awami League promised to turn villages into cities, and we have to work for it.”
Local Government Division (LGD) senior secretary SM Golam Faruk, chief executive officer of DSCC Mostafizur Rahman and other top officials of DSCC were present at the programme.
