8 people killed in Ansar, BGB firing in Gazipur's Kaliakair, Sreepur
At least eight people were killed and several injured in separate clashes between Ansar men, BGB and protesters in Gazipur's Kaliakair and Sreepur areas on Monday.
In Kaliakair, some agitated people attacked Safipur Ansar VDP Academy of Kaliakair Upazila and carried out massove vandalism.
At that time, Ansar members fired gunshots at people who attacked the Ansar Academy, leaving two people dead and many more injured.
Witnesses said an angry mob attacked the Ansar VDP Academy in Safipur of Gazipur's Kaliakair upazila, vandalising two main gates and the entrance. In response, Ansar members fired for self-defense, resulting in at least two deaths.
Dr Saddam Hossain of Safipur Modern Hospital said two people were brought dead at the hospital.
Two others are in critical condition and have been transferred to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital, he added.
Among the deceased, one was identified as of Rakhaliachala area of the upazila. The identity of the other victim aged around 40 could not be known.
In another incident, six people were shot dead and more than 50 people suffered injuries when BGB members opened fire in the morning in the Sreepur area.
Of the deceased, four were identified as Sifatullah, 22, Sharif Ahmed, 20, Kawsar, 28 and Jewel Mridha, 30.
Some injured are Azahar, 30, Farooq, 26, Maruf, 19, Idris, 30, Riaz, 24, Swapan, 35, Babul, 21, Zakir, 52, Shamim, 30 and Raihan, 28.
Md Obaidullah, manager of Alhera Medical Center in Mawna Chowrasta, said that the bodies of five people were brought to the hospital with gunshot wounds.
Besides, 22 injured were sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital with first aid.
Dr. Zarin Fara, doctor of the emergency department of Sreepur Upazila Health Complex, said that the four injured people came to the hospital and received treatment.
However, in this regard, Sreepur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Akbar Ali Khan and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shobhan Rangsar did not respond to their phone calls.

At least 8 dead and hundreds injured in clash with police in Kushtia
In the final moments of the protest, at least eight people, including a child, were killed and over a hundred others were injured in clashes with police in Kushtia.
The incident occurred around noon on Monday, following an attack on the Kushtia Model Police Station and the Police Superintendent's Office. The police opened fire after being attacked, resulting in the casualties.
According to witnesses, around 12:30 PM, there was a confrontation between the police and protesters at Majampur Gate. The police used tear gas and blank shots to disperse the protesters. After 1:00 PM, a different group of protesters attacked the Kushtia Model Police Station. Initially, the police attempted to disperse them with tear gas and blank shots but failed, leading to the use of live ammunition.
Upon receiving the news, army arrived and evacuated all police from the Model Police Station to safety. Shortly after, the protesters set fire to the police station, destroying all furniture, important records, and other materials inside. Additionally, 8-10 motorcycles parked in front of the building were also burned. The fire service later brought the blaze under control.
Later, another group of protesters entered the Kushtia Police Lines and started throwing bricks and stones. To control the situation, the police used tear gas and shotgun pellets, resulting in many injuries. Those injured were taken to Kushtia General Hospital, where doctors declared four of them dead.
The deceased include Yusuf Ali (70) from the Thana Para area, Abdullah (13), son of Lokman, Babu (40), son of Nausher Ali from Haripur area, and Ashraf (42), son of Kafiluddin. Four more people later died while receiving treatment at the hospital.
Rafiqul Islam, Director of the 250-bed Kushtia General Hospital, reported that four people were brought in dead from gunshot wounds, and four more died later while receiving treatment. A total of 124 people were treated at the hospital, with 94 admitted. Most of the injured were reported to be gunshot victims.
Following the spread of news about the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government, homes of various Awami League leaders, including Joint Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif, District Awami League General Secretary Azgar Ali, Hanif’s cousin and General Secretary of Kushtia City Awami League Ataur Rahman Ata, City Awami League President Taizal Ali Khan, Volunteer League General Secretary Manab Chaki, and Kushtia-2 MP Kamrul Arefin, were attacked and vandalized.
Additionally, reports have emerged of the destruction of murals and statues of Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in various parts of Kushtia city. As of 9 PM, celebrations and unrest continued throughout the city.

Houses of AL leaders attacked, torched in Sylhet
Several government establishments and the houses of Awami League leaders and activists were attacked and vandalised in Sylhet following the resignation of Sheikh Hasina from the post of Prime Minister.
Awami League leaders said that soon after the news of Sheikh Hasina's resignation was announced, a group of people vandalised and set fire to the residence of Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury, State Minister for Expatriate and Foreign Employment and Sylhet District Awami League President, in Shapla Bagh area of the town.
Besides, the houses of Sylhet City Corporation Councilor and Metropolitan Awami League Organizing Secretary Azadur Rahman Azad, Awami League Member of Parliament (MP) Ranjit Chandra Sarkar of Sunamganj-1 Constituency located in Gopaltila area and Sylhet Metropolitan Awami League President Masuk Uddin Ahmad and Vice President Asad Uddin in East Shaplabagh area of the city were attacked and vandalised.
Apart from this, the business establishments of many Awami League-supported businessmen were vandalised and looted.
Executive member of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) and General Secretary of Sylhet District Sports Association Mahi Uddin Ahmad Selim's business establishment was vandalised and looted.
Sylhet Metropolitan Awami League Vice President Asad Uddin Ahmad confirmed the vandalism at his residence.
Besides, the office of Sylhet Superintendent of Police was set on fire at Bandar Bazar area .
Earlier, there were clashes between protesters and the police at some places in Sylhet around 1 pm. During the clash, the agitators burnt 2 motorcycles.
These clashes took place in Zindabazar, Chauhatta and Dargah Gate areas of Sylhet city from 1 pm to 2:30pm, leaving at least 20 people injured. In addition, 3 policemen of Special Forces (CRT) were injured in police misfire, witnesses said.
Commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police Zakir Hossain Khan could not reach for comment in this regard.

Mashrafe’s Narail home vandalised, torched
Some people vandalised and set fire to the house of Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, lawmaker from Narail-2 constituency, on Monday afternoon.
They also vandalised and set fire to the houses of district parishad chairman advocate Subash Chandra Bose and district Awami League general secretary Nizam Uddin Khan Nilu.
Apart from this, the district Awami League office was set on fire at the old bus terminal.
District BNP general secretary Alhaj Mohammad Monirul Islam said, "We do not know who is setting fire, vandalizing and looting." We have instructed our leaders and workers to remain calm.
Mohammad Mehedi Hasan, superintendent of Narail Police, said they are trying their best to maintain law and order in the district.

6 killed in police firing in Habiganj
Six people were killed in a clash between police and protesters in Baniachang upazila of Habiganj district on Monday during the ongoing nationwide curfew.
The deceased were identified as Hasan, 12, son of Sanu Mia, Ashraful, 17, son of Nur Mia, Muzakkir, 40, son of Shamsher, Nayan, 18, Tofazzal, 18, son of Abdur Rauf and Sadikur, 30.
Shamima Akter, Baniachang Upazila Health Complex said the protesters brought out a procession from LR High School in the morning.
One killed in police firing in Habiganj
When the procession reached Banichang Police Station, police obstructed them, triggering a chase and counter chase.
At one stage, police fired bullets, leaving three people killed on the spot and 50 others injured.
The injured were taken to a local hospital where three people succumbed to their injuries.
Later, the local people set the police station on fire.

The agitated local people also encircled the Baniachong Police Station.
Zilufa Sultana, deputy commissioner of Habiganj along with the Army visited the police station.

Flight operation at Sylhet Airport suspended for 6 hours
Flight operations at Sylhet Osmani International Airport was suspended for six hours on Monday.
The airport authority announced the closure hours after the resignation of Sheikh Hasina.
Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport closed
The flight operation was suspended from 4:45 pm, said director Md Hafiz Ahmed.
The closure will remain in force until further notice.

One killed in clash between protesters, AL activists in Rajshahi
A man was killed and 35 were injured in a clash between protesters and Awami League leaders and activists at Talaimari in Rajshahi district town on Monday during the nationwide indefinite curfew.
A group of protesters gathered at Talaimari intersection around 11 am.
Later, they tried to march towards Shaheb Bazar. When the protesters reached Sagarpara Kalpana Cinema Hall, a chase and counter-chase took place among Awami League activists and protesters.
Police also lobbed tear gas shells and fired sound grenades during the clash.
Later, a man was found dead near Shah Makhdum College.
Dr Shankar Dey Biswas, duty officer of Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital, said 30-45 people with bullet injuries were admitted to the hospital.

One-point movement: 13 policemen among 23 killed in Sirajganj clash
At least 23 people including 13 policemen were killed and over 200 injured in clashes among police, protesters and leaders and activists of Awami League in different parts of Sirajganj district during the nationwide one-point movement on Sunday.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Clashes erupted in different parts of the district including Boropool, SS road in district town, Shahzadpur, Ullapara and Tarash upazilas of the district.
A group of miscreants swooped on the Enayetpur Police Station in the afternoon and beat up thirteen policemen mercilessly, leaving them dead.
The clashes spread out to different parts of the district.
A number of houses of Awami League leaders and activists and different establishments were vandalised during the clashes.
Besides, attacks were also carried out in different police stations including Belkuchi, Hatikumrul police stations.
Harunur Rashid, officer-in-charge of Raiganj Police Station, said five people were killed during the clash in the upazila.

6 local leaders, activists of AL and associate bodies beaten to death by protesters in Narsingdi; 4 protesters suffer bullet injuries
Six leaders and activists of Awami League and its associate bodies were killed while four protesters suffered bullet injuries during a clash at Madhabdi Bus Stand in Sadar upazila of Narsingdi district on Sunday.
Five of the deceased were identified as Delwar Hossain, 40, Chardigoldi union parishad chairman; Delwar, 38, a local Jubo League leader; Moniruzzaman Bhuiya alias Nati Monir, 42, a Sramik League leader; Anisur Rahman Sohel, 40, a Sramik League leader; and Nousher, 40, ward-11 commissioner of Madhabdi municipality while the identity of another deceased could not be known immediately.
Curfew slapped in Dhaka, some other parts of the country from 6 pm today
Kamruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Madhabdi Police Station, said the protesters gathered at Madhabdi Bus Stand area around 1 pm.
When the protesters brought out a procession, the ruling party supporters opened fire, leaving four protesters injured.
The injured were identified as Sumon Mia, 35; Soyeb, 41; Al Amin, 25; and Mir Jahangir, 30,
Of the injured, Jahangir was taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
Three students shot dead during clash with AL activists in Pabna
Angered by the firing, the protesters and local people chased the ruling party supporters. They took shelter at a local mosque.
However, the protesters caught six of them and beat them up, leaving the men dead on the spot.

Police-protesters clash in Magura leaves one dead
A Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD)activist was killed in a clash between police and protesters in Magura on Sunday noon.
The deceased was identified as a Mehedi Hasan Rabbi, 30, general secretary of district unit JCD.
According to witnesses and police, BNP and Chhatra Dal leaders and activists brought out a protest procession in the Parananduali Dhaka Road and Bhaina Mor areas of the city around 11 am in support of students’ one-point demand.
During the protest, they allegedly attacked the police with bricks and stones and vandalized police vehicles.
In response, the police used sound grenades, tear gas, and rubber bullets to disperse the protesters. Several protesters and police officials were injured in the clash.
Rabbi, who was shot during the clash, was taken to Magura 250-bed hospital, where doctors declarer him dead.
District BNP Publicity Secretary Advocate Mizanur Rahman confirmed Rabbi's death.
Meanwhile, activists of district Awami League and its affiliated organizations took position in their party offices and the Dhaka Road area.
In addition, BNP activists in Mohammadpur Upazila allegedly set fire to and vandalized the Upazila Awami League office.
They also reportedly attacked and set fire to various business establishments owned by different leaders and activists.
