Ten Bangladeshi women, who served jail term in India for illegal entry, were handed over to Bangladesh authorities on Monday through the Benapole land port.
Ahasan Habib, officer-in-charge of Benapole Check Post Immigration Police, said the women went to India around three years ago and were caught by police for trespassing.
They were sentenced to jail for three years. Later, non-government organisation Nabojibon arranged their repatriation.
They were handed over to Benapole Check Post Immigration Police around 6pm.
Justice and Care, a Bangladeshi NGO, took the responsibility of sending back the girls to their families, the OC added.
