About 100 houses were put under lockdown in Chapainawabganj after a rickshaw puller died in the district town on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Mofazzal Hossain, 62, son of Lal Mohammad of Natunbazar in Sadar upazila.
Sub-Inspector Abu Raihan of Sadar Police Station said Mofazzal died while sitting on his rickshaw around 11am.
A team from the health department collected samples of the deceased for coronavirus test.
His family members claimed that Mofazzal was not suffering from cold, cough or fever but he had high blood pressure.
Civil Surgeon Jahid Nazrul said they put the houses under lockdown as a precaution.
