A consignment of 10, 500 metric tonnes (MT) of parboiled rice arrived at Chattogram Port from India on Thursday morning.
Imdad Islam, Senior Information Officer of the Ministry of Food, said Indian vessel ‘MV VCT OCEAN’ carrying the rice anchored at outer anchorage of the Chattogram port on Thursday.

After testing the samples of rice kept on the ship, the unloading activities will start today and necessary measures have been taken in this regard, he said.
