The flight (QR 3458) departed for Bangladesh from John F Kennedy (JFK) International Airport at 9am on Saturday (local time) with 112 Bangladeshi citizens.
Consul General of Bangladesh to New York Sadia Faizunnesa saw off the passengers at the airport, said the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington.
Other officials of the Consulate were also present.
After making a stopover for about four hours at Doha Airport en route to Dhaka, the special chartered flight is scheduled to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Sunday at 4:45pm (local time).
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh has taken up an initiative in coordination with Bangladesh Embassy in Washington and Bangladesh Consulates in New York and Los Angeles to repatriate stranded Bangladeshis by the second special flight of Qatar Airways.
The travelling passengers include students studying in colleges and universities in USA, university teachers pursuing higher degrees, visitors, participants in training programmes, professionals and businessmen.
The flight is operated by maintaining all health guidelines relating to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Earlier on May 17, the first special flight carrying over 242 Bangladeshi citizens arrived here from the USA.
