At least 13 people were injured when a Hanif Paribahan bus lost control and plunged into a roadside ditch in Shibaloy upazila of Manikganj.
Harun Or Rashid, officer-in-charge (OC) of Barangail Highway Police Station, said the bus was travelling from Khulna to Dhaka with 40 to 42 passengers on board.
Around noon, the bus lost control while attempting to overtake another vehicle in the Nabagram area of the Dhaka-Paturia Highway in the upazila and fell into the ditch.
Fire Service personnel rushed to the scene and rescued passengers trapped inside the bus. Four to five seriously injured passengers were admitted to Uthali Health Complex.
The bus driver and his assistant have been on the run since the incident.
Legal proceedings are underway in connection with the accident.
