Police on Saturday recovered 16 abandoned crude bombs from one of the banks of a pond at Balunda village in Benapole upazila of Jashore.
Kamal Hossain Bhuiyan, officer-in-charge of Benapole Port Police Station, said they conducted a drive in the village at noon, after being tipped-off that some bombs were gathered there for carrying out subversive activities.
Later, a total of 16 crude bombs wrapped with red tape were recovered from the bank of a local pond in an abandoned condition, he said.
A legal process was underway in this connection, the OC said, adding that no one so far has been detained.
