Two people, including a child, were killed in separate road accidents in Anwara and Karnaphuli upazilas of Chattogram on Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Dipankar Nath, 11, of Patia upazila and Abdul Hamid , 28, of Karnaphuli upazila.

In Anwara upazila, a speeding pickup van rammed Dipankar while he was crossing the road at Kalabibir Dighi on PAB Road around 11 am, leaving him dead on spot.
The body was sent to Chattogram Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) morgue, said SM Didarul Islam Shikdar, officer-in-charge (OC) of Anwara police station.
Police also detained the pickup van driver, said the OC.
In Karnaphuli upazila, biker Abdul Hamid sustained serious injuries when his motorbike crashed into a truck in Charlakkhya area of the upazila.

Later, locals rushed him to CMCH where doctors declared him dead, said Sadikur Rahman, superintendent of CMCH police outpost.
The body was kept at the hospital morgue, he added.
