A union parishad chairman and a member have been suspended for their alleged irregularities in cash aid disbursement and relief distribution among destitute people amid the coronavirus pandemic.
With these, so far 104 public representatives have been suspended.
According to a notification of Local Government Division (LGD) issued on Thursday, so far 33 UP chairmen, 65 UP members, a zila parishad member, four municipality councilors and a upazila vice-chairman have been suspended.
LGD issued two seperate notifications today suspending the two public representatives.
The suspended are —Hadi Humayun Kabir, chairman of 5 no Bana Union Parishad in Alfadanga upazila in Faridpur district and Zillur Rahman, member of 2 no ward in Rajiura union parishad in Habiganj district.
