Detectives arrested two Rohingyas with 1, 630 pieces of contraband Yaba pills after conducting drives in Magura Sadar on Tuesday.
The arrestees were Aziz, son of late Amir Hossain, and Abdus Kuddus, 45, son of late Mostak Ahmed, both hailed from Hakimpara Rohingya camp in Ukhiya upazila of Cox’s Bazar.
Md Asaduzzaman, sub inspector of Detective Branch (DB) of the district, said being tipped-off, they set up a checkpost in front of Parnanduali Jame Masjid of the Sadar upazila at 8:30am and carried out the drives till 1:35pm.
On suspicion, the DB detained the duo and quizzed about their arrival there, he said.

At one stage, the Rohingyas informed them that they traveled to Magura from Cox’s Bazar by swallowing the pack of Yaba pills in their stomach, the DB official said.
Later, the Yaba pills were recovered from the stomach through washing at Sadar hospital, he said.
A case was filed against them with the relevant police station in this regard, the DB official added.
