Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Helal Hossain came up with the information and marked the three areas as ‘red zone’ while talking at the Coronavirus prevention committee.
The areas include wards No 17 and 24 of Khulna City Corporation and Aichgati in Rupsha upazila.
Khulna City Corporation Mayor Talukdar Abdul Khalek, Khulna Divisional Commissioner Dr Mohammad Anwar Hossain Hawladar and Director of Khulna Health Department Rasheda Sultana were present at the meeting.
The lockdown will remain in force till July 16.
Sonadanga Bus Terminal, Khulna Medical College Hospital and kitchen markets will reamin out of the purview of the lockdown.
People will be informed about the lockdown through loudspeakers.
All shopping malls of the district will remain open for three days (Sunday, Monday and Tuesday) till 5pm from June 26.
Besides, red flags will be hoisted atop houses of Covid-19 patients.
The health authorities on Monday reported 38 more deaths from the virus, putting the tally at 1,502.
During the period, they confirmed the detection of 3,480 new cases, taking the total number of Covid-19 patients in the country to 115,786.
