Three people were killed in separate road accidents in Jatrabari and Wari areas of the capital on Saturday.
In Jatrabari, two people, including a rickshaw puller, were killed when a truck hit a rickshaw at Mirhajirbagh in the Jatrabari area of the capital early Saturday.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
The accident occurred around 2:30 am when the speeding truck hit the rickshaw carrying a passenger, leaving both the passenger and the rickshaw puller injured, said Inspector Md Faruk, in charge of the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) police camp.
They were later taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared them dead.
Police arrested the truck driver and seized the vehicle.
In Wari, an unidentified young man, aged about 25, was killed after being hit by an unknown vehicle in front of Bangabhaban in the capital early Saturday.
The accident occurred around 3:30 am when the unknown vehicle knocked down the young man, leaving him injured, said Mainuddin, sub-inspector of Wari Police Station.
Later, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where the doctors declared him dead around 4 am.
