At least six people, including three madrasa students, were killed in separate lightning strike incidents in Narsingdi and Savar on Sunday.
In Narsingdi, three madrasa students were killed and another was seriously injured after lightning struck them while they were performing ablution before Maghrib prayers at a madrasa in Monohardi upazila.

The deceased were identified as Zahirul Haque, 15, Abu Raihan, 14, and Abu Jafar, 15. All were residential students of Panchkandi Madinatul Ulum Madrasa and hailed from Hossainpur upazila in Kishoreganj.
Dr Mohammad Mostanshir Billah, Health and Family Planning Officer of Shibpur upazila, said four students were brought to a local hospital after being struck by lightning. Three were declared dead on arrival, while the fourth is undergoing treatment.
Monohardi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Jahangir Badsha confirmed the incident, saying the students were injured while performing ablution ahead of Maghrib prayers.
In a separate incident in Savar, three farmers, including the owner of an agricultural field, were killed after lightning struck while they were working on farmland in Konda village under Bangaon union.
The incident took place in the Bazar Para area of the village at around 5:00pm.
One of the deceased was identified as Din Islam, 54, son of late Buddu Mia of Baliarpur and owner of the field. The identities of the other two victims could not be confirmed immediately.
Locals said two farm workers died on the spot when lightning hit the field during the afternoon. Din Islam was critically injured and later died on the way to hospital.
The two deceased workers had reportedly been brought from the Hemayetpur area to work as day labourers.
Imran Hossain, in-charge of Savar’s Bhabanipur Police Outpost, confirmed the deaths and said efforts were underway to identify the remaining victims.
