A total of 310 acts of vandalism and 376 arson attacks were recorded across the country during the blockade and hartal from October 29 to November 22 enforced by BNP- Jamaat and like-minded parties.
A total of 290 vehicles were set on fire during this period, according to police headquarters.
Besides, Awami League offices were vandalised in Jhalokathi and Pirojpur districts while two offices were set on fire in Sirajganj district on November 6 and 15.
Six people including a policeman were killed while on duty in various incidents during this period.
A total of 24 sabotage incidents took place on the railways from 31 October to 22 November 2023. Of these, 3 trains were set on fire at Kamalapur, Tangail and Jamalpur railway stations.
During this period, police arrested 29 people in connection with arson in Dhaka metropolitan area.
Among them, two people were arrested from Ramna, two people in Bangshal, four in Mugda, two in Tejgaon industrial area, one person in Mohammadpur, eight in Pallabi, one in Kafrul, five in Gulshan, one in cantonment, two in Khilkhet and one in Uttara East.
Many of those arrested gave confessional statements admitting their involvement.

Earlier, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) announced a Tk20,000 reward for help in nabbing arsonists with information amid nationwide arson attacks.
