In a series of nationwide joint operations led by the Bangladesh Army, a total of 328 people involved in various criminal activities have been detained between July 10-17.
According to ISPR, the operations—conducted in coordination with other law enforcement agencies—targeted various locations across the country including Dhaka.
Those apprehended include identified terrorists, illegal arms dealers, drug traffickers, smugglers, juvenile gang members, extortionists, illegal land occupiers, robbers, and illegal sand miners. Many were caught red-handed during the raids, ISPR said.
During the operations, 8 illegal firearms, 49 rounds of ammunition, 16 cocktail bombs, various narcotics, locally-made weapons, stolen goods, mobile phones, and cash were also recovered from their possessions. Later, the detainees were handed over to local police stations for further interrogation and legal proceedings.
The Bangladesh Army has intensified its operations to clamp down on criminal networks and ensure public safety.
These security measures are also part of broader efforts to stabilise industrial areas and support normal trade activities amid ongoing national unrest.
ISPR urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest army camp as operations continue to restore and uphold law and order across the country.
