Police detained 379 youth in another drive against teen gangs and unruly youths across Cumilla district on Tuesday night.
The operation was conducted simultaneously at all 18 police stations in the district from 7pm until midnight led by Superintendent of Police Md Anisuzzaman, with personnel from local police stations, different units of the district police and the Detective Branch (DB) taking part.
With the latest drive, a total of 1,672 youth have been detained in four phases of anti-teen gang operations in the district.
Additional Superintendent of Police Lutfar Rahman said police are verifying whether the 379 people detained in the operation were involved in any criminal activities.
“After the verification process, legal action will be taken against those found to be involved in criminal activities,” he said.
