Police in a drive arrested four people including a woman for their alleged involvement reasiling ransom after kidnapping eight tourists, from West Kathaltoli in Dighinala upazila of Khagrachari district on Sunday.
The arrestees were identified as Belal, Azizur Rahman, Shahidul and Sufia Begum.
Md Zakaria, officer-in-charge of Dighinala Police Station, said eight friends from Puthia upazila in Rajshahi went to Khagrachari to visit Sajek on March 2.
On March 3, when they were heading towards Sajek Valley, Belal and Azizur intercepted the vehicle carrying the tourists when it reached the Noy Mil area.

Later, they forcibly took them to Ambagan and realised Tk 7.20 lakh as ransom from them through bank accounts.
The abductors also kept the signature of the victims and released them.
After getting a complaint, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested four people, said OC Zakaria.
Khalilur Rahman, a victim, filed a case against eight identified and 5/6 unidentified men with Dighinala Police Station.
