The authorities on Tuesday arrested 467 people and fined 1087 vehicles in the capital for Covid lockdown breaches.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) rounded up 467 people from the streets for violating restrictions, said DMP Additional Deputy Commissioner (media) Iftekharul Islam.

Meanwhile, mobile courts collected Tk 227,480 as fines from 305 people for breaching the lockdown rules.
During this time, the Traffic Division collected Tk 25, 29, 025 as penalties from vehicles for failing to comply with coronavirus lockdown restrictions.

Bangladesh entered a seven-day lockdown, from July 1, to tackle the rising tide of Covid-19 infections and fatalities.
The government extended the ongoing stringent lockdown to July 14 midnight.
