Seven people died and 16 people sustained injuries in separate road accidents in Cumilla, Thakurgaon and Gazipur districts on Sunday.
In Cumilla, Three people, including two schoolboys were killed and 11 others injured in a head-on collision between a covered van and a pick-up van at Jor Kanan in Sadar Dakshin Upazila of Cumilla on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Morshed, the pick-up van driver, school students Faisal and Shaheen. The students were going to participate in a Bangabandhu U-17 football match at Sadar Dakshin Upazila ground from Lalbagh high school.

Debashish Chakraborty, officer-in-charge of Comilla Sadar Dakshin Model Police Station, said the incident took place when a Chattogram-bound covered van coming from Dhaka collided head-on with a pick-up van coming on the wrong side, leaving three people dead and 11 injured.
In Thakurgaon, two people were killed and four others sustained injuries in a road accident between a motorcycle, a nasimon and a three-wheeler (Paglu) at Baliadangi Upazila of Thakurgaon district on Sunday morning.
The deceased were identified as Alim Uddin, 55, son of Khatu Mohammad, resident of Mujahidabad village under Ranishankail upazila of the district, and Abul Hossain, 67, son of late Darbaru of Malibasti village.
According to local sources, a Nasimon and a three-wheeler (Pagloo) collided at the intersection of Baliadangi upazila, leaving one dead on the spot.

Abdus Sobhan, sub-inspector of Baliadangi Police Station, said Alim Uddin died on the spot and Abul Hossain died while undergoing treatment at Thakurgaon Modern Sadar Hospital in the afternoon.
In Gazipur, Two people were dead and another was injured as a truck ran over a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Mawna-Kaliakair road in Kaliakair upazila of Gazipur early this morning.
The identities of the deceased, passengers of the three-wheeler, could not be known immediately.
Sohel Rana, an in-charge of Phulbaria police outpost, said the accident occurred around 6 am when the Phulbaria-bound truck ran over the auto-rickshaw in Phulbaria Bazar area, leaving the duo dead on the spot.

The bodies were sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsies, he said, adding that the injured auto-rickshaw driver is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Though the truck could be seized, its driver managed to flee, the police officer said, adding that a process was underway to take legal action in this connection.
