Satkhira, Sept 23 (UNB) – A young man died after allegedly taking ‘too much foreign made alcohol’ at Shuktia village in Patkelghata upazila early Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Kamal Gazi, 27, son of Abdul Gazi of the village.
Locals said Kamal’s neighbours Khalil Sardar and Salam Golder consumed foreign made alcohol near a pond around 9 pm on Saturday night.
At one stage, the victim fell sick, they added.
However, they took him to Satkhira Sadar Hospital around 3 pm where the duty doctor declared him dead, said Rezaul Islam, officer-in-charge of Patkelghata Police Station.
According to the medical certificate, Kamal died of cardiac arrest, he said.
“The incident is being investigated,” he added.
