On the occasion of Victory Day, Sajeeb Wazed, known for his role in revolutionizing Bangladesh's digital landscape and chairperson of Center for Research and Information (CRI), has said that Jamaat gained political clout with the help of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) to serve the unfinished agenda of Pakistan — destroy all the core ideals that led to the birth of the country.
Posting on his official X account, Sajeeb Wazed wrote: “December 16 is a red letter day that marks triumph of justice over injustice and impunity, an occasion to hold our head high.
“In 1971, Pakistani Army launched a brutal crackdown on unarmed people on now defunct #EastPakistan, one of the worst #genocide in history. Jamaat e Islami colluded with the savage force and perpetrated #masskilling, rape, looting among other crimes against #humanity. Bengalis fought and won at the cost of an ocean of blood.”
“On the eve of this Victory Day, yet again #BNP #Jamaat combine has been out in the open to stop the upcoming #election, disparage the supreme sacrifices of millions of martyrs and inflict causality on general people,” he wrote.
“Let’s take a pledge to stand for the founding values that make us a proud nation and stand with #AwamiLeague in the indomitable march for a prosperous and smart future, a fitting tribute to our war heroes,” Sajeeb Wazed tweeted.
