The abducted manager of Sonali Bank's Ruma branch was rescued from the Bathel Para area of Bandarban through the mediation of the Rapid Action Battalion on Thursday.
The bank manager, Nizam Uddin, was rescued on Thursday, confirmed ASP Imran Khan of the RAB headquarters media wing.

No KNF member could be arrested in this incident. Currently, the manager is being brought to Bandarban. He may be taken to the RAB headquarters in Dhaka tonight.
Didarul Alam, acting Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Ruma, confirmed that the manager is completely healthy.

Earlier in the day, Nizam Uddin’s wife, Nazmul Nahar, said the armed separatist group Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) demanded Tk 15 lakh from his family as ransom.
Nahar, a teacher at Bandarban Cantonment Public School and College, revealed the matter to the media shortly after she received a phone call from the KNF.

The separatist group kidnapped the Sonali Bank manager on Tuesday, April 2, and tried to loot Tk 1.5 crore from the vault of the Ruma branch. Unable to take the money, they kidnapped the bank manager.
They also carried out robberies at Sonali Bank and Krishi Bank branches in Thanchi upazila of Bandarban on Wednesday.
