The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Monday filed a case against four employees of Bangladesh Forest Research Institute (BFRI) and four police officials for obtaining government jobs using fake academic certificates and embezzling public funds.
The case was lodged with the ACC’s Chattogram office, said Assistant Director Sayeed Mohammad Imran Hossain.
The accused BFRI employees are driver Md Khaled Mosharraf Riaz, sweeper Swapan Sarkar, and guards Mohammad Farid Ahmed and Md Alamgir Hossain.
They allegedly secured government jobs by submitting forged certificates claiming completion of class VIII.
The accused police officials include former Sub-Inspector (SI) Mohammad Rafiq of Lakshmipur, former Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Md Monir Hossain of Chattogram Special Branch, former SI (Unarmed) Md Abdul Baten of Khagrachhari Hill District, and former District Intelligence Officer (DIO) Md Atiqur Rahman of Gaibandha.
