Former Professor of Malaysia Sarawak University Dr Zin Zawawi Zakaria was also present at the meeting.
During the meeting, they exchanged views regarding the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programmes on palm oil, rubber, water, soil management, environment and other arenas among DU and Malaysian universities.
The DU vice-chancellor apprised the acting high commissioner of the history, academic and research programmes of Dhaka University in brief.
He said an excellent friendly relation has been prevailing between Bangladesh and Malaysia for long time.
The acting Malaysian envoy said his country is interested to work together with Bangladesh in various sectors, including education.
He informed the DU VC that Malaysian Prime Minister is expected to pay a visit to Bangladesh in early next year to attend a gala programme marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
He sought a programme for Malaysian Prime Minister at Dhaka University during his Bangladesh visit.
In this regard, the DU VC assured him of chalking out a programme through discussion with the authorities concerned.
