The government has appointed Air Vice Marshal Javed Tanveer Khan as the next Ambassador of Bangladesh to Lebanon.
He is replacing Major General Md Jahangir Al Mustahidur Rahman in this capacity.

A decorated officer of Bangladesh Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Javed Tanveer Khan was commissioned in January 1990, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in its announcement on Tuesday.
In his military career, he has served in various staff, instructional, and command postings. Just before being deputed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he was serving as Air Officer Commanding at BAF Matiur Rahman in Jashore.
He has also served as the Air Officer Commanding at BAF Paharkanchanpur in Tangail.

Other senior positions he held in his career include Air Secretary at Air Headquarters, Director General (Training) at Armed Forces Division and Officer Commanding at Air Defence Operations Center.
He was the Commandant of Bangladesh Air Force Academy. Also, he has the experience of serving both at National Defence College (NDC) and the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCS) in different stints, said the announcement.
His dedicated service towards the nation has earned him a number of awards and commendations, it also said.

Air Vice Marshal Tanveer had his BSc in Aeronautics from Rajshahi University. He did two Master’s in Defence and Security Studies from DSCSC and Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), respectively.
He did another Master’s in Operational Science and Arts from Air University (ACSC), USA.
He has also taken part in a number of professional training courses both at home and abroad.
