Ambassador of Bangladesh to Indonesia Tariqul Islam on Sunday met President Mohammed Shahabuddin at Bangabhaban.
President's press secretary Joynal Abedin said that during the meeting, the new ambassador sought the direction of the President in fulfilling his duties.

President Shahabuddin said that there is ample scope for the development of bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Indonesia as well as for the growth of trade and commerce.
The president instructed the new ambassador to work to exploit the existing trade investment opportunities between the two countries, including increasing the export of various products made from Bangladesh including clothes, medicine, ceramics to Indonesia.

The president also emphasized on exchange of businessmen's visits to increase trade between Bangladesh and Indonesia.
Secretaries concerned to the president were also present during the meeting.
