Proceedings in the Parliament on Saturday took a humorous turn when a slip of tongue by Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) MP Andaleeve Rahman prompted laughter across the House.
While taking part in the budget discussion, Andaleeve sought to raise what he described as a "very important" issue concerning development of Bhola.
"Honourable Speaker, let me say something about my constituency. It is very important... I want to speak about Bhola. Honourable Speaker, if Hafiz Saheb were here, he could relate to it," he said.
The Deputy Speaker, who was in the chair at the time, then interrupted with a smile, asking, "Sorry! Who is Hafiz Saheb?"
Realising his mistake, Andaleeve immediately corrected himself.
"Sorry, sorry... Mr Speaker. Thank you. Sorry, so sorry," he said, drawing laughter from fellow lawmakers.
Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad is a BNP lawmaker elected from Bhola-3 constituency.
The brief exchange provided a rare comic interlude during an otherwise serious debate on the proposed national budget, momentarily lightening the mood inside the House before proceedings returned to the scheduled discussion.
