President of BAPTC&B Prof. Dr. Rakha Hari Sarker presided over the function while Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences of DU Prof. Dr Md. Imdadul Hoque and Director General of Bangladesh Sugar-crop Research Institute Dr. Md. Amzad Hossain addressed it as special guests.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman urged the researchers to play an effective role to develop the agriculture sector in the country. He also stressed the need for preservation of bio-diversity.
He called upon all concerned to work together to reduce risk in the fields of bioscience research.
