Inspector Md Suman Ali, of Boraigram Police Station in Natore district, was undergoing treatment at the hospital since August 2.
As his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital and was kept on life support where he died on Friday early morning , said Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) of Police Headquarters (Media) Md Sohel Rana.
Md Suman Ali had joined Bangladesh Police as a Sub-Inspector on September 24 in 2008. Hailing from Daulatpur village of Shibgonj in Chapainababgonj district, he left behind his wife, one daughter and a host of relatives and admirers.
Under special arrangement, his body has been taken to his village home where he was buried at his family graveyard in presence of senior police officers of the district.
With the death of Inspector Suman, a total of 67 policemen have died so far from coronavirus.
