The conspirators who were behind the August 15 carnage in 1975 are still very much active, said PM's Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman on Wednesday.
"The conspiracy that caused us to lose Bangabandhu is still very much active. Those who were behind it could never accept Bangladesh as an independent country," he said while addressing a discussion and doa-mahfil.

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) arranged the programme marking the 46th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning Day.
PM's Principal Secretary Dr Ahmad Kaikaus presided over the event held at the Shapla Hall of PMO.
Salman said immediately after the 1971 liberation, it was said that Bangladesh would be a failed state and bottomless basket case unable to survive.
He said many political assassinations occurred in the world, but there is no second instance in the history that the family members, including children and women were killed brutally.
“It was done intentionally. Because they knew that their purpose would not be served by killing only Bangabandhu. The plotters knew that if anyone of his family survives, he or she would be able to take the dream of Bangabandhu forward as Bangabandhu had a great personality and strong influence over the Bengali nation. This is why they decided to kill all at the darkest night,” said Salman F Rahman.
He said pro-Pakistani elements still want to establish a narrative that Bangabandhu actually did not wanted independent Bangladesh and the independence came accidentally.
He asked all to remain careful against such conspiracy.
“Those who hatched the August 15 conspiracy are still active We'll have to remain alter,” he added.
He said, “We will have to work hard and perform better so that we could defeat them no matter what conspiracy they hatch.”

The PM's adviser said" If we can implement the dream of Bangabandhu by building the country as Sonar Bangla would be the biggest revenge of the August 15 massacre.
The principal secretary said the August 15 conspirators thought that the female members of Bangabandhu family would not be able to lead the nation in future. Had they realized it, they would not spare two daughters of the Father of the Nation later, he said.
“They thought that women could do nothing and this is why so they spare two daughters of Bangabandhu and didn't go for further conspiracies (to kill them). Had they realized that the daughters of Bangabandhu would be embodied with the charisma, we might have lost them as well, "he said.
Besides, Principal Coordinator (SDG Affairs) Zuena Aziz, PM’s Press Secretary Ihasnul Karim, PMO Secretary Md Tofazzel Hossain Miah and Director General of Special Security Force (SSF) Major General Md Majibur Rahman also spoke on the occasion.
PM’s Military Secretary Major General Naquib Ahmed Chowdhury was present at the event.
