“If we analyse every day of Bangabandhu’s life, we find he loved the people deeply and dedicated his life for the emancipation of the Bengali nation. The diary of his struggle is an important document for the future generations,” she said while addressing a discussion and doa-mahfil arranged marking the National Mourning Day 2019.
Gopalganj Zila Samity arranged the discussion titled ‘Bangabandhu and Bangladesh’ at the auditorium of the National Museum in the city’s Shahbagh area.
The Speaker stressed the need for taking lesion from the ideology of Bangabandhu as he never bowed his head to any injustice rather he had moved forward not compromising his ideology to improve the fate of the people and bring a smile on the faces of the deprived and marginalized people.
At the event, one-minute silence was observed to pay tribute to the Father of the Nation and other martyrs of his family.
Awami League presidium members Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim MP, Muhammad Faruk Khan MP, State Minister for Religious Affairs Sheikh Md Abdullah, Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission Kazi Riazul Haque, AL advisory council members Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed and Mukul Bose, Nargis Rahman MP, among others, spoke at the discussion presided over by president of Gopalganj Zila Samity Sheikh Kabir Hossain.
Former principal secretary Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury spoke as the chief discussant, while chief coordinator of Gopalganj Zila Samity Advocate Molla Md Abu Kawser delivered the welcome speech.
