Bangamata's birth anniversary celebrated in Australia

Bangladesh High Commission in Canberra celebrated the 90th birth anniversary of the Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, a source of inspiration, strength and courage of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Saturday.
An evening programme was organized on the High Commission premises to commemorate the sacrifice and dedication of Bangamata with the participation of members of the Bangladesh community and High Commission officials, maintaining the Covid-19 restrictions.
The discussants focused on prudence, patience, courage and patriotism of Bangamata who worked diligently and silently to emancipate the Bangali nation.
They paid rich tributes to her for encouraging the Bangabandhu and helping him take right decisions in all critical times of national history.
Bangladesh High Commissioner to Australia Mohammad Sufiur Rahman paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation, Bangamata and the martyrs of Bangladesh’s Liberation War.
Sufiur highlighted the extraordinary contributions of Renu, Begum Mujib and Bangamata in the transformation of the Sheikh Mujib from a youth leader to Bangabandhu.
He said that Bangamata’s highest contribution was to dedicate the indomitable leader, Bangabandhu for the cause of the people of Bangladesh.
Sufiur mentioned that the nation could honour the invaluable contributions of Bangabandhu and Bangamata by actively participating in the development and progress of Bangladesh.
A video documentary on the life and works of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib was screened before the discussion session, said the High Commission.
A special munajat was offered seeking salvation of her departed soul.
