Foreign Minister made the call while speaking with mission chiefs in nine countries through videoconference.
Terming Bangladeshi expatriate workers ‘remittance warriors’, Dr Momen urged all mission chiefs to remain alert as none of Bangladeshis starves.
He said Bangladeshi agricultural workers are skilled and efficient; and directed mission chiefs to be active in finding alternative labour market in agricultural, fishery and other sectors.
Bangladeshi agricultural labourers can show their skills in agricultural sectors in meeting food demand in the Middle Eastern countries as well as other countries in the post Covid-19 period, he added.
Dr Momen also urged the envoys to continue communication with the respective countries as no Bangladeshi loses jobs and if anyone does so, they must ensure six months’ salaries, allowances.
Dr Momen called on mission chiefs to remain more cordial in providing consular services.
Chiefs of Bangladesh Missions to Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Lebanon, Oman, Iraq and Jordan attended the videoconference with the Foreign Minister.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam and Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen also joined from Dhaka.
