Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun on Friday said Bangladesh has been able to continue its journey towards becoming a developed country offsetting the fallout of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“When the corona pandemic is casting devastating impacts on the global economy, the progress of Bangladesh continues paving the path for entering the group of developed countries under the bold leadership of Sheikh Hasina,” he said.
The minister was addressing a food distribution programme at Monohardi Upazila auditorium in Narsingdi on the occasion of the National Mourning Day 2021, said a handout.

“Though the development journey is hindered to some extent due to the corona pandemic, Bangladesh is now making a turnaround,” he said.
Nurul Majid urged Awami League leaders and activists to stand by people in this pandemic time as Awami League stood always beside people in every crisis and disaster.
He said Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his daughter Sheikh Hasina did politics always for the welfare of the masses.

The minister called upon all to wear masks and follow other health protocols in line with the government’s directives.
He asked the leaders and workers of AL grassroots units to come forward to make the government’s drive for mass vaccination a success and check the coronavirus transmission.
The food items were distributed among some 400 poor at the function arranged by the upazila administration.
