“Jinnat was first admitted to Cox’s Bazar General Hospital and later shifted to the CMCH two days back,” he said, adding that the country’s tallest man was suffering from various health complications, including brain tumour.
He was laid to eternal rest at his own village in the afternoon with the presence of Local MP, upazial nirbahi officer and officer-in-charge of Ramu Police Station.
Jinnat Ali, son of Amir Hamza of Barabil village in Cox’s Bazar’s Ramu upazila, met Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganobhaban in 2018 when she gifted him a house.
According to family members, he started growing up abnormally at the age of 11 and reached to 8 feet and 6 inches.
Due to inconvenient physical appearance, he could not be engaged in any profession to earn his livelihood.
According to Guinness World Record, the tallest person in the world is now Sultan Kosen of Turkey.
Although Jinnat was 3 inches taller than him, Guinness did not measure him.
