BASA, an organisation of Bangladesh Civil Service (administration) cadre officials, condemned the use of ‘abusive words by the MP’ against the UNO of Charbhadrashan upazila .
Nixon reportedly threatened the DC Atul Sarker over the arrest of his supporters during Charbhadrasan Upazila Parishad by-polls.
He made the threat at a victory rally held in front of Charbhadrasan Upazila Awami League office on October 11 after Awami League candidate Upazila Awami League general secretary Md Kawsar Hossain (boat symbol) won the election.
Addressing the rally, MP Nixon said the deputy commissioner arrested the activists of ‘Boat symbol’ and assaulted them by “12 magistrates” during the election.
The MP expressed his dissatisfaction over appointment of 12 magistrates in the election.
The press release of BASA issued on Wednesday said that Deputy Commissioners and Upazila Nirbahi Officers work as representatives of the government for land management, conducting elections, examinations, relief distribution during natural disasters etc.
These types of defamatory and derogatory remarks create obstacle in their works and frustrate them.
Condemning the incident, they demanded bringing the accused people under trial after proper investigation.
