Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has sought detailed information regarding the bank accounts of content creator Salman Muqtadir.

Letters in this regard were sent to all banks and financial institutions on Wednesday, according to sources.

Officials from several banks confirmed receiving the letter.

In the letter, BFIU requested comprehensive details on accounts held under Salman Muqtadir's name, including account opening forms, Know Your Customer (KYC) documents, transaction statements, and other related records.

The institutions were instructed to send the requested data to the BFIU within half an hour.

However, it could not be immediately known whether any specific reason for seeking his bank account details was mentioned in the BFIU letter.

The development comes amid ongoing discussions over the recent attack, vandalism and looting at his Brown Fish Studio, located at New Guinea Properties in the capital’s ECB Chattar area.

The attack was carried out on Saturday night, causing extensive damage to the studio.

Allegations of attack and vandalism were also raised over the office of New Guinea Properties and several adjacent structures.

Saiful Islam Bhuiyan, director of New Guinea Properties, filed a case with Cantonment Police Station over the incident, alleging trespass, vandalism, looting and theft.

Police and the Detective Branch (DB) have arrested several people in connection with the incident.
