BGB director general Major General Md Shafeenul Islam and Andrey Furtay signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations at BGB headquarters in the city on Tuesday.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Public Security Division Secretary Mostafa Kamal Uddin, First Secretary of Russian Embassy in Dhaka Andrei Bankaev, Military, Air and Naval Attaché of Russian Embassy Colonel Yuriy P. Levchenko, representative of the supplying company Nikita Schastlivtcev and senior officials of Home Ministry and BGB were present in the programme.
Earlier on June 5 in 2016, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan formally laid foundation stone of the BGB Air Wing at Border Guard Training Centre and College in Satkania of Chattogram.
The BGB Air Wing was established aiming to turn the BGB as a three dimension force, specially to construct Border Out Post in remote hilly area of Chittagong Hill Tracts, transportation of ration and logistics support, carrying seriously sick BGB members to hospital, emergency rescue service as well as to increase operational capabilities of the border force.
After commissioning of the two helicopters, the BGB Air Wing will be turned into a full-fledged wing.
