Bangladesh Ganatantrik Chhatra Sansad has announced a march towards the Education Ministry, demanding the resignation of the Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET).
The march will be carried out at 2pm on Thursday, the spokesperson of BGCS, Ashrefa Khatun, said in a statement on Wednesday night.
According to the statement, the education adviser and UGC made a "mockery" throughout the day with the students of KUET. Showing a thumb-down to the demands of students who are in a near-death condition, they have not yet taken any action against VC Masud.
“Every moment, the protesting students of KUET are moving towards death, and even after VC Masud publicly declared not to resign, the government has not taken any action against him, read the statement.
In the past 52 hours, the government has proved that the lives of students are not important to them — rather, their seats of power is what matters most to them.
"They will challenge the throne they desire most, without risking their lives," as mentioned in the statement.
Meanwhile, students from various universities were holding protests and processions at Shahbagh in the capital at midnight in solidarity with KUET students demanding the resignation of its VC.
