A Dhaka court on Sunday placed four people including ANM Ayash, member secretary of Rashtra Sanglap Forum, on remand in a case over the attempt to deface a graffiti of Rabindranath Tagore on a wall in front of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the capital.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam placed Ayash, and his associate Sakibul Hasan on a three day remand each.
Besides, the court also placed two more accused—Sujon Mia and Marzia Khandaker Rimi on a two-day remand each.
Earlier, sub-inspector of Shahbagh police station Abdul Gaffar Himel produced them before the court with a 10-day remand prayer.
Earlier in the day, they were were sown arrested in the case.
Officer-in-Charge of Shahbagh Police Station Moniruzzaman said police filed the case under the Penal Code on Sunday morning and showed four arrestees as accused in the case.
They were detained by police around 12:30pm on Saturday amid a commotion in the Shilpakala Academy area.
