A 13-year-old teenage boy lost his right wrist after in an explosion at South Islampur in Munshiganj district town on Sunday.
The victim was identified as Sajib Mia, son of Raju Sheikh of Paikpara in Narayanganj district.
Sajib Dey, Inspector (investigation) of Sadar Police Station, said Sajib found a ball-like object from garbage in the area which exploded with a big bang, leaving him injured.

He was taken to the Munshiganj 250-bed General Hospital from where he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
Sajib also sustained injuries in his left hand and abdomen.
Police are investigating the incident, he said.
