Miscreants set a BRTC double-decker bus, carrying officials and employees of Dhaka University, on fire near the Mirpur-10 crossing in the capital on Monday afternoon.
The incident happened on the second day of the ongoing 48-hour countrywide blockade, which the BNP, Jamaat, and like-minded opposition parties called.

Sources at the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) headquarters said miscreants set fire to the double-decker bus around 5:30 pm.
The flame was immediately doused by the bus driver and his helper with fire extinguishers before the fire service unit rushed to the spot, said Ershad Hossain, duty officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence control room.

It has been learned that the double-decker bus was used for the transportation of officials and employees of the university under contract. It was returning after dropping off DU staffers when it came under attack.
