The seventh edition of the BUP International Model United Nations Conference 2023 began on Thursday.
The conference, organised by BUP Global Affairs Council, is an event that brings together students from across the globe to discuss and debate international issues. It will end on Sunday.
Brigadier General Muhammad Ali Talukder, Dean, Faculty of Security and Strategic Studies, was present as the chief guest while acting Chairman of the Department of International Relations, Shaila Solaiman, attended the event as the special guest.
The conference aims to create a pool of global citizens who can tackle the world's problems with confidence, empathy, and diplomacy.
The main theme of the conference is "Encouraging Safe and Ethical Technological Usages Through Global Cooperation to Reduce Violence, Civil and Geopolitical Conflicts."
More than 300 delegates from 40 national and international universities across the country and abroad will participate in the BUP International Conference.
BUPIMUN is the only integrated MUN conference in the country, where students from different backgrounds come together to engage in intellectual discussions and cultural exchange.
Nine committees of the conference will focus on different topics of the international system.
The conference follows the rules of integrated MUN, and two awards will be given, the Best Delegation Award and the Best Country Delegation Award, based on the delegates' overall performance and the committee's resolution.
