A 30-year-old bus driver was killed after being hit by a bus in Sanarpar area of Narayanganj on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway on Friday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Russel, son of Masud Sarker, from Kadirpur village of Madaripur district.
Arif, another bus driver, said Russel suffered serious injury when he was hit by a passenger bus while crossing the road to smoke a cigarette after lunch on Saturday at 3:30 pm.
Russel was first taken to a local hospital. Later, he was shifted to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment where he succumbed to his injuries at 5:20 pm.
The body was kept in the hospital morgue for an autopsy, said Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) police outpost.
