A 40-year-old businessman was critically injured after an unidentified assailant shot him inside his shop in Dhaka’s Kadamtali area on Saturday night.
The victim was identified as Md Aslam Khan, 40. He was rushed to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Locals chased and caught a suspect following the shooting.
The incident occurred around 8:20pm inside a kitchenware shop named “Lucky’s Cookeries” near Shonir Akhra Royal Hospital.
Monwar Hossain, a friend of the victim who was present at the shop, said they were talking when an unidentified youth entered the shop and opened fire.
Khan sustained bullet wounds to his right forehead and left leg below the knee.
Md Faruk, inspector and in-charge of the DMCH Police Camp, said Khan is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Kadamtali Police Station has been informed about the incident, he added.
