Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Thursday greeted the countrymen and the Muslim Ummah across the world on the occasion of the holy Shab-e-Qadr (Lailatul Qadr) to be observed tonight.
In his message, Prof Yunus highlighted the significance of this auspicious night, stating, "Lailatul Qadr is a blessed and glorious night. On this night of the holy month of Ramadan, the Holy Quran, the guide of mankind, was bestowed upon the world."
The Almighty Allah has declared that “Surely, I have revealed it (the Quran) on the night of Qadr and this night is better than thousand months”, said Prof Yunus, adding that worship on this night is better than the worship of a thousand months.
He reflected on the abundant mercy and blessings bestowed on this night, suggesting that through worship and devotion, individuals can draw closer to Allah and attain His forgiveness.
The CA prayed for the strength to engage in acts of human welfare and nation-building, steering clear of injustice, lawlessness, violence, and superstition.
"On this holy night, I pray to the Almighty Allah for forgiveness, continuous progress, peace, prosperity and welfare of our beloved motherland and the Muslim Ummah," he said.
Shab-e-Qadr, observed on the 27th night of Ramadan, holds profound significance in Islam.
Muslims spend this night in prayer, Quranic recitation, and seeking Allah's blessings, as the Quran was revealed during this period.
