A case has been filed in connection with the death of Jubo Dal leader Touhidul Islam in Cumilla.
Yeasmin Nahar, Touhidul’s widow, filed the case against six identified and 20-35 unidentified people with Kotwali Model Police Station on Wednesday, said Mahinul islam, officer-in-charge of the police station.
The named accused are Saiful Islam, Tanzil Uddin, Nazmul Hasan Titu, Khairul Hasan Mahfuz, Saidul Hassan Sabuj and Sohel of Adarsha Sadar upazila.
Touhidul Islam, 42, convener of Panchthuri union unit of Jubo Dal in Cumilla Sadar upazila, was allegedly picked up from home by joint forces early Friday and later died at Cumilla Medical College Hospital.
Family members have claimed that he was tortured to death, as physicians found torture marks on his body.

According to the case statement, some 20-25 people picked up Touhidul on January 31 during the kulkhani of his father who had died on January 26.
